Glossary A guide to the more commonly
used words
Building
Survey Report (previously known as a Structural
Survey)
The most detailed and comprehensive report, providing a full picture
of the property’s construction and condition, giving details
of defects, major and minor, and providing technical advice on problems
and on remedial works.. A valuation is not included.
Sample
of Valuation Report
A brief report giving the value of a property, noting any major defects
that would affect the value of the property.
Sample
of Main Element Report
A briefer report than a building survey, giving
concise assistance, principally focusing on significant details of
the main elements, both internally and externally. A valuation is
not included, and therefore the fee is less than a building survey
or a Homebuyer Survey & Valuation. Prospective purchasers often
have this report in addition to a separate mortgage valuation report
(as the valuation part of the Homebuyer Survey & Valuation would
be superfluous). |
